- Verizon a pivotal part of projects
- FiOS essential in attraction and retention
- Dedicated Verizon team provides expertise
With headquarters in New Jersey, First Montgomery Group manages properties representing more than 5,000 units in the Delaware Valley. Through its Architectural Renovation and Construction division, it also rehabilitates existing complexes and builds new apartment communities.
First Montgomery's hallmark is "high-quality living through management and maintenance services that surpass industry standards." A pivotal part of any project is installing a Verizon fiber-optic infrastructure. According to the management group, it allows for the latest technology upgrades, while Verizon FiOS services help retain existing residents and attract new ones.
"We get quite a few telecommuters looking to rent, and they just light up when they hear we offer Verizon FiOS in our units," says Harry Bagot, director of property management for First Montgomery Group.
Verizon works with First Montgomery staff to help them market a comprehensive Internet, TV and voice package. A dedicated Verizon team provides installation and service expertise. "Verizon worked with us to make sure the installation didn't inconvenience our current residents, and it was great being able to work with one provider all the way through."
The Brambleton Group Story
- A town with a powerful technology infrastructure
- FiOS services connect a high-end workforce
- Home buyers have expectations
Brambleton sits on 2,000 acres in northern Virginia, near Washington Dulles International Airport. The first homes were sold in 2002, and the plan calls for more than 6,000 new single-family homes, town homes and condominiums. Resort-style amenities include pools, tennis courts, nature trails and parks. The town center is home to more than 450,000 square feet of retail space as well as restaurants, professional offices and a cineplex.
The brainchild of Detroit businessman Anthony L. Soave, Brambleton is ideally situated near a high-tech corridor with a highly educated workforce. Soave had visions of a small town with a powerful technology infrastructure.
With Verizon's fiber-to-the-home (and office) platform and FiOS services, community members enjoy the fastest broadband service, next-generation connectivity of television, video-on-demand, videoconferencing and phone services. The community even has an intranet that links every resident to schools, businesses and community governance.
"We've found that what draws people here is the location, but what keeps them here is the technology," says Kim Adams, Brambleton's director of marketing. "I can't imagine a developer not planning for this technology [FiOS], because buyers have come to expect it. It's one of the most valuable selling tools we have."
The Lewis Group Story
- Verizon FTTP enabled cutting-edge services
- Training sales staff helped differentiate the community
- All 43 homes sold in the first hour
The Preserve at Chino is phase one of a planned community in Southern California that will encompass more than 7,000 homes, apartments, schools, parks and commercial buildings. Ten distinct neighborhoods offer a variety of architectural styles and 33 acres devoted to parks. A 15,000-square-foot recreation center anchors the community.
Lewis Planned Communities, a member of Lewis Group, recognized that bringing Verizon fiber-optic broadband to The Preserve would enable the latest, most popular cutting-edge technology applications. Making Verizon FiOS services available to residents would allow the developer to market The Preserve as a technology leader not only in the area, but in the country.
Verizon representatives had the expertise to manage the installation and troubleshoot problems on site. They also trained Lewis agents on the best ways to talk with home buyers about the advantages of fiber technology. Verizon became a way of differentiating The Preserve in the marketplace.
"The most exciting thing about FiOS is how it helps us sell homes," says Randall Lewis, executive vice president of Lewis Operating Corp. "When we held our grand opening, all 43 homes that were available sold in the first hour. Our community stands out, and our leading technology is definitely a key part of that."
